Thing 17 Rollyo

Nice searching tool, all in one it makes it easier for the students to go in to specific contents of the web with out letting them wonder around the web to (" bad sites ") , I will truly recommend this tool to all the teachers out there.
Just remember some basic things while setting the rollyo , you need to be using firefox to be ale to use the search engine, since I'm using my personal computer I wont try to upload the firefox, since I had several bad issues with links and virus.

Thing 16 Learn about wikis

I never thought to place in wikis as a part of an online Lesson plan sharing experience, but these past summer school we where using a personalize wiki page to post ideas, lesson plan comments and ways to approach situations that the students where creating using the PBL model.
Wikis are as any tool a great assets to any one and these also demand a lot of commitment to be use by every one in the community of the that surrounds the wiki page you just created.
Some famous wiki pages that I can think of is wikipedia.org, but as in any public sharing site, the information in these page can be 50 /50 real or changes to the believe of the writer.

Thing 15 Web 2.0 and the future of libraryes.

What can we say, with technology advancing faster and faster in our lives seems like regular libraries place a side, but I don't think so , as long as there is some on in charge of keeping track of the collective knowledge libraries will stay.
Away from the icebergs: is a wide open minder and pushes us to remember that not every one is expendable, at times we can think that we are but if we believe that we will become expendable,. Librarians and libraries have a limited budget I agree, but is the way the use those resources the ones that makes them more valuable. Teaching others how to research is a NEED more and more these days where the population is going faster and faster and the information is at the hands of every one in any place. I do agree with the article Monopolising the knowledge data base has going to the pass long time ago.
In to the new world of Librarianship and to more power full ways to cooperate : these 2 articles have a way to describe that it doesn't matter the job or your function in a place is the individual the ones that gives out a personal touch to his/her paper roll in life, the better he decides to his/her assignments the more productive the environment will be for every one in the need of assistance. These also out knowledge the fact that we need to be aware of what is changing out for every one is also going to have an impact on ourselves an the way we do things, we need to keep on growing with the need and wants of the community at hand.

Thing 14 Tagging information

Tagging information is a good option to use when you want to have everything organized and in 1 place at the time you need it, is like and electronic tool box.
When ever you are tagging be considerate on how much you tag in you blog you might overwhelm it and turn it in to an unreadable page in the web.

Thing 12 Commenting

Commenting is essential ; using a proper argument will helps us know what the others see in the world and their likes and dislikes. Just remember to use an easy writing language and manners when commenting keep in mind that others might not see what you think is true and vice-versa.

Polemic on the other hand is good for the development of knowledge, we cannot take for granted everything we see and hear, talking to others is always and enrichment experience.

Comments help keep thing a live and running for a loner period of time.

Thing 13 Tags and social bookmarking

Delicius is a nice web site to start but it might not be the best on a safety point of view, I will recommend to the users to have their ant virus well tuned to avoid bad surprises, 3 of the links i found like the portal to the Maya underworld from National geographic has a Trojan virus. These doesn't mean that all the tags a bad or have something wrong, just be cautious.
On the other hand Furl has a better presentation and a more easy to use navigation area; tags are really help full and more if you are in the middle of a research project even for third graders, if you teach them properly they can learn to tag or bookmark pages with the information they are looking for and be able to retrieve it later on, it can be use but requires a lot of practice and commitment, on both sides of the equation.

Thing 11 Lybrary Things

Is a nice tool for upper grades most likely I'm still trying to figure it out on how to add it in the classroom but i haven't got any ideas so far, never the less is a nice refresher tool for reviving boos that i read, or wonder to intrigue on other books that open my mind to read them.
Also heads up some of the groups might have ajoker or 2 on the forum so you might also consider reading ahead of the game before you put the students in to the action.
